Initially nominated in the “Switzerland’s Best Ski Resort” category along with eight other finalists, the candidates had a 16-week period to promote their bid at the World Ski Awards. The path to victory was not without its challenges and Verbier had to mobilise all its resources to win the “Switzerland’s Best Ski Resort” award.

To celebrate this achievement, a delegation from Verbier attended the gala ceremony organised by the World Ski Awards on Saturday 17 November in Kitzbühel. The winners of the various categories were officially unveiled at this ceremony, where Verbier discovered that it had won the “Switzerland’s Best Ski Resort” category. This award was presented to the ski resort that received the most votes.

Verbier, one of the largest Swiss ski resorts

Verbier is a mountain resort located in the municipality of Bagnes, close to the Combin and Mont Blanc massifs. 
This reknowned Swiss resort is part of the 4 Valley domain, the third largest ski area in Europe and one of the first resorts in Switzerland. 

Every winter, this cosmopolitan station hosts thousands of thrill seeker skiers and families who come to enjoy the various range of activities of the station. Verbier offers many family activities: skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, sledding, swimming pool. Many guides are present on the resort. They propose to make you discover the mountain safely. 

Specialists are not to be outdone as Verbier has one of the most beautiful freeride spots where skiers and snowboarders indulge in their favorite activity in a felling of total freedom. For 20 years, the resort has also been hosting the Verbier Xtreme, an international competition where the greatest worldwide freeriders compete. 

The Verbier High Five is another major event of the winter season. This ski celebration is a moment of sharing where professional and hobbyists gather inVerbier to celebrate their love of skiing. In summer, the bikers storm to the slopes, then stripped from their snowy coat. When the sunny days come, Verbier becomes a privileged place for nature lovers and thrill seekers. Mountain biking, paragliding, hiking and climbing, activities abound ! 

The resort also hosts an international horse competition, and its 18-hole course which is open from May to November. It offers a unique view of the green Alps, which is particularly appreciated by golfers.
